Emotions.
Feeling them is normal,
Feeling them is good.
We have many emotions. Happiness. Joy. Confusion. Excitement. It makes the day bright. It makes it worth it, going through. Those little moments of positivity. From little games we play to that random picture we saw that made us smile. That’s what makes it worth it.
But we also feel the opposite side other spectrum. Anger. Fear. Anguish. Sorrow. We ask ourselves Why me? We ask ourselves What did I do wrong? We ask ourselves Why must it be that way? Sometimes we feel like there’s nothing right with our world. It feels hopeless. But we’re all allowed that feel that way. We feel like we need to hide our sorrows from others. We feel we need to keep the bad emotions locked away.
But that’s never the answer. It just festers, like an infected scar. You can’t ignore those emotions. You can’t act like they don’t exist. But you can’t let your negative emotions be the only thing that drives you. You can’t let it be the only thing you feel. If you only feel negative, you miss the good. If you only see the darkness, you never see the stars.
We’re all allowed to feel. From anger to happiness. From fearful to excited. From sorrowful to joyful. It’s not wrong to feel. It’s a privilege to feel. You’re allowed to feel. Just make sure you’re feeling everything. Not just the bad, or not just the good.
Be glad you can feel.
It’s what ensure that you are, indeed, alive and here.
Please, if a fanbase, piece of media itself, or whatever else is taking a toll on your mental health, distance yourself from it.
I understand that taking a break from, or giving up something entirely is hard, but the lives of not only you, but those around you will be better off without it.
If you feel the need to threaten, harass, or do anything else that negatively affects another human being all for some dumb korean desu desu anime characters, then that’s just… unacceptable. I don’t care for what reason, nobody deserves to be backed into a corner and bullied all for… what? Disagreeing with you? Nobody deserves to experience harm in the real world for something that doesn’t exist, and that includes yourself.
Yes, almost everything I said in that paragraph could apply to everything, but Mystic Messenger in particular can be really draining to somebody’s mental health if entered with the wrong mindset. This game includes a plethora of triggering subject matter, especially in Another Story.
There’s no shame if you can’t handle it at this very moment. Your health is more important than getting a gold star of completion for some free to play fad game.
Please, don’t screw over your sleep schedule to get a good ending. Don’t play a game if it negatively affects your health in general, nor if it causes you to hurt, or want to hurt somebody else.
Oh, and P.S: Harassing charity zines, sending people gore, death threats, etc. For the sole reason of them liking a character or ship you deem problematic makes you a piece of shit. Fix yourself if you think that’s okay.
And yes, there is a difference between calling someone out on their bullshit and outright harassment. You can do the former without the ladder, but some of y’all nasties will try and take justice into your own hands by throwing innocent people under the bus and being a general asshole. I’m not gonna sugarcoat it when I say that doing that is disgusting and needs to stop.
Fiction is not reality. The lives of real people, including your own, don’t deserve to be worsened by a work of fiction.
