‘Akechi wins polls, so who cares about you defending him?!’
Sure, Akechi wins popularity polls because he’s super dee duper adorable and easy to ship with Akira/Ren, but there are many Akechi-phobes who condemn him to eternal damnation. Many phobes actually attack Goro Akechi cosplayers. Which is, by NO stretch of the imagination, cool. As Sonic the Hedgehog would say: ‘that’s NO good’.
Akechi needs us fans to give him the love he was denied. The acceptance, friendship and compassion he never got at any point in his life.
I forgot to finish this story, anyways I have food alarms set throughout the day to remind me to eat. My alarm is the exact same as my ringtone, so when my mom called me earlier instead of answering my mom I went to the kitchen and made myself a sandwich.
This needed its own post because as cute and funny as this is, I hope its one of the last times she feels this threatened around us. All I wanted to do was clean your tank, Kate. I didn’t mean to give you a frighten.
AO3 may be a non profit organisation, but they still need to pay
– their IT people – the server space – rent at the place they work at – water, electricity and heat – internet and other communications connections – legal fees – anything that comes from being a place that employs people
i mean, the fact that we don’t pay for their service doesn’t mean that everyone who works there is a volunteer. like, let’s say they have a cleaning person, like any kind of office does. that person needs a living wage, because no one is gonna clean the bathrooms for the good of reading fanfics. would YOU clean bathrooms for the good of keeping fanfics free, available and organised?
I’m taking an organization theory and practice class, and yeah, this is pretty much how all not-for-profit organizations work. They do, in fact, need to receive profit, but that’s because this is necessary in order for any organization to function because they have to pay their workers in order to keep them. The characteristic that makes an organization for-profit or not-for-profit is what they do with that money. Not-for-profit organizations are required to use their money toward whatever cause they support and to hire and pay workers. Meanwhile, for-profit organizations’ goals are usually to generate as much profit as possible. This is also why we’re taught that “not-for-profit” is a more accurate descriptor than “non-profit”: because these organizations gather profit, but they don’t exist for the purpose of doing so.
That being said, if there’s a not-for-profit organization you appreciate and you have the means to do so, you oughta donate to them so they can keep kickin’.
