That’s not actually what that passage says.

“The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors”

It doesn’t mean that if the President is impeached, the VP is removed too. It means that the President, Vice President, and all civil officers CAN BE impeached. Separately.
