Dear trans people, I have a question that’s come up rather often recently. As a member of the LGBT community, I’d like to be more informed as to not accidentally assume anything hurtful.
With that being said, is defining “trans” as a third gender offensive? Let me clarify.
Say there’s a discord server, and there’s some self assignable roles. Let’s say that the gender roles for this specific server are: Female, Male, Nonbinary, and Trans (maybe with Trans Female and Trans Male exclusively, or with just Trans and you’re supposed to add the Male or Female after)
In this scenario, would you be more likely to simply choose the gender you identify with, or would you go to specify that you’re trans with the trans role?
And if it’s a case by case basis, what do you think about this type of scenario?
trans usually isn’t a Third gender, but more like a different tree.
see, you have Male, female and other.
being transgender, you transition from one of the main two to the other of the main two.
being “other’ would include… agender, or anything from the growing list of explained genders. ( like. demi- boy/girl??)( i think, don’t quote me on this, )
– you’re friend, the trans guy
